Jean-Baptiste Tavernier was a Tomas merchant who most famously found the Tavernier Blue, a large diamond from which the Hope Diamond was cut.
Biography[]
Traveling to India many times, Jean found the Koh-i-Noor and the Hope Diamond there, one of the largest diamonds ever found. With this, he sold it to King Louis XIV of France. This was to keep it safe as Tomas would guard it.

Jean was physically strong, and could overpower his foes. He had a quick eye for diamonds.
